The Title sequence True
Detective evolves around the genre: crime/ Psychological and mystery. The Television
program is about the lives of two detectives, Rust Cohle and Martin
Hart, become entangled during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana.
The parts of the title sequence I
liked the most were the cinematography as the camera seems to pan backwards and
forwards creating motion for the piece which I felt was really effective and I
may incorporate the same effect and motion into my title sequence. I really
like how the images that are shown in the title sequence are very artistic and
abstract as buildings and industrial looking sights are used to shape the head
of a person. The cleverness about this is it hides the person’s identity and
gives us a scene of setting which is mis en scene. I like the creativity and it
creates questions and the answers you will have to find out when watching the
television series. This is how I want the audience to feel when watching my
title sequence. The sound used in the title sequence is very prominent in the
whole piece it sounds country and American suggesting where it’s set, it’s not
a sinister sound meaning it’s not going to be a horror but has a sense of vague
suspicion creating a mysterious mood.
